Beautiful little bird, difficult to get as they are quite shy. Taken in my back garden on a dull day. The garden itself is quite shaded so even on a bright day it is not great - hence the high ISO. But I thought it was a nice photo and the head angle is not even too bad :)

Took this image before I got my flash extender - so hopefully the shots in the back garden will improve
    Critiques please

Hi Michael and wellcome on board. I like the low angle a lot and the out of focus background is nice but I think that it needs a round of noise reduction to improve the result. Good eye contact, head turn and sharpness. Keep them coming :-)

Big welcome Michael. Lovely first post. I would like to see a tad more light on the goldfinch but great eye contact and detail as well as a good low angle. Very nice and will look forward to seeing more. Thanks !!

Very nice. You must have been right down there with the ants to get that one! I like it. Low-light shots often have some good detail lurking in the shadows, and this one is no exception. It'll repay a little time playing with levels and such.
