I'll be posting a few penguin photos, results of a trip made this January.
Canon 1D3 w/ 400mm f/4.0DO w/ 2EX
800mm ISO 200 1/500 @ f/11 - no flash used, it could have used some as I took the lights up a fair bit in processing in LightRoom...

I would have liked to see more of the mature bird as it would (IMHO) have captured the tender moment in a more fulfilling way. I love the detail in the chicks fuzzy feathers and the eye looks fabulous! Can't wait to see more shots from your adventure.
Lovely and sharp and the BG works well to show off the colours of the beaks. I agree with Philip that seeing more of the adult would have been nice. I would probably have used ISO 400-800 to gain a bit more flexibility with shutter speed and enable some + EC - I assume your histogram was well to the left if you needed to open up significantly in LR

Great moment captured. Shows the tenderness between a little and their parents.
I would have liked to see the entire head of the adult, and that bothers me a little of the white area of his head attached to the edge of the photo.
I think a very good picture.
Congratulations.
Here's the original - histogram was pretty decent, actually....
Fantastic timing and great tender moment. I think that th eimage would be much better with the complete adult´s head. The eye details is superb.
