    This shot is not a technically or artistically proficient but I have been searching for this fella for 5 years !!!! :p

    I was shooting down this Winter visitor by a small hill.
    Pix is about 50% of frame.

    Black-backed KingFisher
    Ceyx ertihacus

    Canon 40D + 500f4 + 1.4TC
    F8, 1/40, ISO 640, EV-0.3, Flash - 2 1/3

    first time I see this sepcies. seems to be very colorful. Thank you for sharing.

    Looks like a very interesting kingfisher - amazing colours. You did well with all that glass and so little light. I would have pushed the ISO up a bit to try and keep some shutter speed

    Great looking bird and after looking for this species for 5 years I am sure that you really enjoyed this image. You know that, unfortunately, the shooting angle is far from good, very stepped. I wish you a second chance with this bird and, of course, abetter angle. :-)
