    Default American Goldfinch

Just going through and processing some old files from last spring. This was taken on a grassy hillside where I frequent for Henslows and Bluebirds, this guy just happened to stop by.

    ISO 400 ~ F/8 ~ 1/750 sec ~ -2/3 EV

Wow, great perch and BG combination! Was it naturally there? Your pose and lighting are good as are the sharpness and details. No problems for me. I might try an 8x10 aspect ratio.

Mike, this looks great all around to me. I really can't think of anything I would change.

    Cheers,

Yes, the Common Mullien is everywhere it seems up here. Thanks for the feedback so far. One thing that just dawned on me is that the BG was far enough away to still get a creamy bokeh at F/8 and get all the bird and Mullien in focus. I'll have to remember to get back to this spot more often. :)

Just a litle bit less room at the top to avoid excesive centering of the main subject. The Bg is very good and I love the perch and bird´s pose. Neat eye contact, great result instead of the fact that the light is a bit strong. Hey, I would try to return to that same spot for sure ;-)

Good job on this one, Mike. The pose is just right, the bird is sharp, the exposure is right on, and the background is clean. I agree that you could take a little off the top, but it also works as is.

I like the perch and the BG Mike. I would probably crop a little off the top. I'm going to have to try some set-ups this year; I've done very little of that.
