    Default Fire and Rain

This is what happens when you get a combination of stormy skies in the BG, a brief glimpse of the setting sun, and a curious Northern Harrier. This was about the only good light we had up in Utah last week, so I was happy to have a bird cooperate.

That image sure has a different look to it! The headturn and sharp facial area is nice.

Doug, I like this a lot. The dramatic lighting and eye contact really make the image. You know, using a tripod is allowed on this forum! You're going to be buff when you get down to Costa Rica in a couple of months from handholding that 600 with a 1.4.

    Cheers,

The over the shoulder look, stormy BG and nice light make this one for me! Excellent shot!

I'm like A-Rod. There's so much pressure here on BPN to produce quality images that I've resorted to steroids in order to hand hold the 600! ;)

Superb image Doug, the dark BG and the warm light in the harrier created a terrific drama that it is outstanding. This is my favourite kind of light. Fantastic eye contact, sharpness, etc

    terrific handholding technique!

The Hawk really pops against that dark sky, very dramatic image.

Hey Doug... wow, that light was intense once the clouds gave way! Awesome image. Along with the light, the look back makes this in my opinion. Great detail as well.
