Work has been crazy for the past 5 weeks and I've had trouble keeping up with the forums let alone processing and posting images. Managed to grab some time this evening to look through some images I made last month at the Gannet colony at Muriwai just north of Auckland. The wind was such that some of the birds were passing low over one of the 2 viewing platforms. Would have preferred a direct look to get symmetry of the eyes and beak but it obviously preferred the look of my daughter next to me.

Perfect exposure and a nice pose, although I would have preferred the bird looking right at you or giving us more of a profile. The sky looks great too. I might be tempted to move the bird a little lower in the frame.
Hey Tony, your daughter did a god job calling the attention of the gannet because I like a lot the expresion in the face of the bird. I do not mind about the head turn, it works for me. I would prefer a darkerd Bg with less amount of clouds :-)
