    Dennis,

Good capture. It's neat to see the wings fully spread. I might crop a little off the RHS and lighten up the left eye slightly.

Great capture Dennis. Like the head angle and the details under the wings.
Did you get a new camera and lens?

Did pretty well Dennis !!! Great wing position and eye contact !!! Exposure looks good just needed softer light !! btw the Osprey images you see with perfectly lit underwings most come from the beach. When they fly over the sand light is reflected !! Sure helps !!

btw on clear days with the sun out you will always have a compromised exposure. The light you need for the underside of the wings will burn the top of head or tail !!! Excellent capture like it a lot !!!

    Hi Oscar
Not a new camera, this was the Nikon D300 and 300 f4 lens before I got the new D3 and the 300 f2.8...I wish I could have kept the D300 for a backup .... it was a great camera..

Hi Dennis - love that wingspread - as AL mentioned soft light would have been the key.

I made a couple of changes, some S/H on the underwing area and lightened the eyes with levels and sharpened - just trying to get them a bit more pop - all quick and dirty changes - you can do much better with the original file.

    keep them coming.

    Hi Dennis,
I like the capture and the bird's position in frame...agree with the techs. Mr. Peters' repost brought out the details...well done...
