When Snail Kites Attack

I still can't entirely figure out the reason for the kites fly in. The Heron had just pierced a nice sized fish. The kite seeing this I think mostly wanted to check things out. Since their primary diet is apple snails I don't know why she had any interest in the herons catch. She made just the one pass and went on her way.

Wish I had the angle showing the large fish but was still neat to witness and got off a quick grab none the less.

Great capture, maybe the kite felt territorial.
