I just finished packing for my flight home from Utah. It wasn't as incredible as last year but I still had a great time. We had a mini BPN GTG, with Jim Neiger, Joe Ford, Keith Bauer, David Powell, John Blumenkamp, and myself in attendance. This Juvenile Bald Eagle circled us a number of times as we were driving off to lunch; we finally decided to hop out of the car and snap a few photos. I took this image in vertical orientation, something I rarely do, because I knew just the pose I wanted ahead of time.
Bald Eagle Canon 50D, 500mm + 1.4x, f/7.1, 1/2000, ISO 640, manual exposure, no flash, hand held
Great topside view and head turn. The bent primaries on the left wing portray a little movement. High Key indeed, thats about the whitest BG I have seen!

Great wing position, detail in the wings, and head turn. Good use of high-key BG. Needs more sharpening. I downloaded it and sharpened it to be sure it was not just me and looked a lot better Doug.
Thanks Robert. This image was processed from my laptop up in Utah. I haven't had a chance to play with it on my desktop computer yet. I'll have a look tomorrow.
