    Here's one of my bird photographs from your side of the pond, taken last year Texas.

    My eye was drawn to this simple composition due to the colours in for- and background.

    Nikon D300
    Nikon AF-S 300/2.8G VR + TC17II
    1/800 @ f/8.0
    ISO200, RAW
    Gitzo tripod

    I agree that the colors are eye-catching, Jasper, and I like where you have placed the bird in the frame. I think this would also work well as a pano if you cropped about half of the foreground.

    I agree with Steve, as a Pano could work as well. I have to be honest, from the thumbnail I didnīt really know what to expect but let me say that I loved it the minute I saw it larger! Congratulaitons! Great comp, great color, great contrast and detail.

    I agree with the above comments - love the colours but too much OOF for my taste - I would crop from below to give almost equal amounts of blue and gold. Stilt pose is lovely.

    After reading the above comments I've been looking at the small JPG for a while....and I have to say that on this web presentation I fully agree with the cropping suggestions. However, on big print the OOF fg adds to the photograph as it leads you into the frame....towards that little stilt....but as said it doesn't really work like that on this web presentation (which is very interesting).
