    The Great Egrets were very active at the Gatorland Rookery yesterday! So were the photographers! Mike Godwin was there to help everyone. Most of the other regular birds that nest there have not come in yet. Will be going back again in a few weeks. Nikon D200 w/ 80-200mm lens w/ 2X Teleconverter at F8 & 1/250s

    Love the mood and light, comp looks very good to me, I would try to tone downd those hot whites. Congratulatins!

    Great shot! Like the mood of this one very much! It might be nice to compare this one, with another version with the highlights toned down a bit, to see the difference.

    I was so riveted on the eye and the bill that I did not notice the hot whites. I love the head angle and wish only for a uniformly dark BKGR.

    Again everyone pointing out the hot whites: IMO backlit photos benefit from hot whites. They are what make the image pop. They outline the shape of the bird. Sorry, but I have to stand my ground on this subject.
