Taken today in the shade, outside the condo door. I feed all the critters, and I wanted to get a shot of them lugging away a whole piece of bread, but they cart it off right away like a big prize and are too fast for me.

Such a cute pose Jackie! Hope you don't mind but fiddled a bit.
FWIW, I almost always work on squirrels in LAB. So popped the color just a tich in LAB curves, masked squirrel and did a bit of S/H in the L channel, added a bit of sharpness to the eye and added some canvas on the left. Oh and leveled the sqirt just a bit.

    What ya think?

I really like you how made the squirrel stand out more in your adjustment, Nonda.

Like the leveling (think he could use a bit though he is on a slope) Nonda and the sharpening of the eye, not sure about the lightening and colours though as this was taken in full shade. The histogram showed everything within range. Thanks for working on it though. Just trying to keep up with your code, FWIW (just came to me), BIP (Bird in Panic)?? :), I just know how to sharpen in LAB. Thanks for explainging how you did it though. Does LAB just work on the luminance channel with your editing technique???

    BIP..Brain in park.

To tweak color I use a&b channels, I often will use S/H in luminance as well as levels in LAB
