I usually have my camera with me as much as possible as you never know when an opportunity may arise. I usually allow myself some extra time each morning for the journey to work by leaving early, just in case I spot anything en-route. This is a buzzard I found perched by the side of the road on the way in to the office this morning and so the camera on the passenger seat was quickly swung into action :)
This is a Repost of the image taking into account the helpful comments made

This is such an appealing image. I love the touch of plant in the corner and the overall setting. I'm wondering if a little brightening around the eye might be helpful (it may look bright enough on another computer). One thing that I notice right up front are the sharpening halos.
Fantastic image...what a cool bird (hard to go past raptors for cool I think). However I'm with Lana, the face looks a little dark on my monitor too. And I may be wrong, but I think a very slight CCW rotation would help...it looks to me like the image drops away to the right of the frame ever so slightly. Great work again!
Hi Rich;
that is, what I alwys try to: get one of those buzzards on my CompactFlash-Card.....
But when slowing down the car, they are gone..... You were quite lucky, that this one decided to stay for a picture!
