Another one from the files. I submitted this a long while back and it didn't have enough sharpness and was too dark in one corner. hopefully i've done a better job this time.

    Canon 10D and????
    Data on old computer somewhere...

I have seen a lot of great work this week in the squirrel department. Great Idea! This has been fun.

    Blessings to all,

Hi Chris - wow what a tail on that guy - sharpness looks good.

Would have liked to see him angled a bit more towards the camera, rather than slightly away from it.

    looking forward to more.

Agree comments Chris Amazing how the little head angle can make a difference, I think is more apparent with the squirrels.

Would have been interesting to see the camera settings. For this I would have gone for max dof and if you didn't have a very long lens might have gotten it .... with long tele probably not possible even stopping down to the max.

Sweet pose and bg Sure came up with a good one

That tail is impressive. I like the moss on the perch and the bg--while complementary the branch still is sharper enough to stand out.

Like the faming Chris, bit of a head turn would of been ideal. Love the moss in the BG.

Hi Chris. Good compositional elements here with the slightly diagonal perch, opposite curve of the squirrel and the reduced color range. If you have Digital Photo Professional, it would be interesting to check the AF points (command J on Mac, likely control J on PC) and see where the camera picked focus. With this pose it would be tempting to choose small aperture for DOF and focussing on the body rather than the eye, as there will be more sharpness behind the focus point than in front. This would have helped with the tail which is the visual magnet in this shot. As it is, the greens and the moss do it for me!

i agree with kerry, the mossy tree makes a great perch!! the tail could be a compo by itself!!!!
