    Default Graceful

Shot this last year. A shadowed rock provided a perfect dark BG for this fern frond.
    Any C&C are welcome!

    f4.4 @ 1/100, ISO 100, -0.3 EV
Program mode, spot metering, auto WB, natural light
Processed in PS CS2; curves adjustment, saturation increase, cloned out a few light spots on the BG and a bit of another frond in the LRC

I love the fern and the composition on this one. I can't believe you got such great detail with an f/stop of 4.4...nice! I do think you either need to decide to take the BG all the way to black or bring it up enough that we can see a bit of what is back there. As it is, I find it a little distracting for the plant. I'd also think about cropping the bottom so the moss that is wrapped around the stem isn't showing.

You sure caught some sweet light that day!

Nice capture. I like the composition.

Julie is right on the money. I agree with her.

Thanks Julie and Joseph. I've followed your suggestions cropping some off the bottom and taking the BG to black. What do you think of this?

I think it was a good idea to dark the BG. Now it´s even more graceful. I like the patterns and motion sense this pic gives. My congrats!

I like it both ways. The second presentation makes the fern"pop" more.

    Hi Christopher,
I like it as presented, it's simple elegant and makes a bold impact with the dark background...the depth of field is very good...good show...
