    Default Rough-legged Hawk

This is another image of this hawk that I made a few days ago. This species is pretty rare around here. The snow on the ground helped with the underwing details.

Great catpure of this awesome hawk Axel... I like the slight head turn toward you/the camera, and you've positioned the hawk nicely in the righthand side of the frame. Nice work.

Beautiful bird, Axel. Snow does wonders as a reflector. I'm afraid we're a little short on that here in SF. Very sharp and nice wing position. Is it a big crop? Hand-held or tripod?

Thanks, Susan! This is handheld and about 60-70% of the frame. The bird came so close that I have several images that are full frame or with clipped wings.
