Default Just Seconds Ago - Topi with New Born Calf

This image was created in the Masi Mara, Kenya. We observed this Topi give birth to her calf and then stayed with the two them for a period of time. The calf's first attempt to get up was successful but shaky. This is that result. I hope you like my image. This is the scan of a slide, so no specific exposure data available. Thanks. - John

Very nice interaction between mother and calf. Great head angles, love the soft colors and muted background. Splendid image!

    John,

I am most envious for all the days I have spent on Safari (nearly 300) I have never seen a birth, and a lovely looking animal as well.

    John,
You have captured a rare scene. Not too many people have been privy to witness such a scene.

    Ken,
May be better luck on your 301st day on Safari. :-)

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
