I thought I would take a try at a squirrel. They are always in my feeders in my backyard.

    Hi Linda,
I like the capture, you have a good head angle and fine details...might suggest on cutting 1/4 from the top to eliminate some of the negative space, and add more canvas to the bottom for the tail...also might want to tone down the white hot spots on the breast...the eye seems to be a tad over sharpened, it looks kind of funky, it has a glassy eye look...aside from this, I like it...

Hi Linda Excellent pose and love that tail position Gus nailed the critique !!!

This squirrel is a good subject of understanding exposure. Dark on one side light on the other with surrounding dark areas ..... meter will try to make the dark lighter since its job is turning everything neutral grey so the whites are over a bit.... solution ... just stop down about 2/3 for this one.

Linda I'm sure you can recoup the whites during the conversion if you shot on RAW !!! btw very sharp for the slow shutter speed !!!

hi linda, some nice tech coverage above. i might add that by boosting your ISO you could have increased your shutter speed which is very slow here. you did fantastic getting the sharpness that you got here, so congrats on that!!
