Another shot taken on the back roads of the Katy Prairie Conservancy in Katy, TX. I think it is a juvenile red-shouldered hawk?

Canon 40D with a 500mm f4 IS and a 1.4 TC II handheld.

I like the alert look of the hawk and nice detail. If it were mine I might crop a little from the left and make it more of a centered vertical comp.

I like your crop the way it is - it's always nice to leave room for your subject to look into. The light is awesome in quality and direction. Good control with your exposure on the whites. My only nit would be that your bid is a little tight in the frame.
