    Default Another Satellite Stallion

Here is another wild satellite stallion, one that hangs around the edges of another stallion's band. He is a massive and powerful horse. I hope when I go back this Spring to the Jicarilla Wild Horse Area that he has his own band and a foal or two. If that's the case, he probably won't let me anywhere near as close as he allowed for this shot.

The light was a little hard by the time we found him, but I still like this image. I may warm it up before printing.

Hi David You did well with harsh light Neat getting so close to this beauty !!!

Not sure if you could have taken a step to avoid the dark area by mouth? and might crop tighter from the back with more room up front. The most compelling for me is the head and want to see more. Love this image !!!

    David,
I echo Alfred's views. Light was tough. A vertical with the head would have been nice. However, the character of the Stallion comes through. Good luck for your next trip.

    Cheers,

The hard light looks like what I remember from living in NM and you handled it well. Dark spot behind the nose gets my attention. This one seems to have a more rounded nose (bridge of his nose) than many of the others you've posted. Any particular known reason? Are these the same breed/species as the ones closer to your home?
