As this large alligator was sunning itself, I took this shot while lying on the ground, military style- just in case I had to get away quickly. I called it quits when the gator started to twitch. Taken early evening at the Viera Wetlands, FL. I look forward to all comments and critiques. Thanks for looking.

This looks pretty cool, I like the angle, composition and eye contact and might be tempted to clone out these three blades of grass on the right that are a bit longer.

    Shawn,
I love the out of focus grass and the tight framing. The low angle gives it the right perspective. This works for me. Thanks for sharing.

I think the low angle and crop really make this image work... that eye pops at the viewer. I also like how the tail leads away in the background and is oof, etc. Must have been a rush to see this guy in person.

Yes John it was quite a rush. I kept moving closer until I was able to fill the frame. I watched others photographing him. But down on his level, on my belly, I wasn't sure how he would react.

I think that (A), you're crazy, and (B) you created a wonderful image. Just love the super low angle, the light, your use of dof, and the way you composed this. Great work, I could look at this image all day.
