How would you crop this or is it even worth taking the time. I like some of the texture in this image and I'm not sure what to do with it.

I like it! I put a GBH shot in Avian. I would be interested to know what you think about it. The light this afternoon was incredible... but short lived :D

    Hi Michael
I found the dip behind the bird interesting but distracting.
    So here's my crop.

    Thanks for reply Michael
Looks like both Alfred and I had a dabble at your image at the same time.
I do prefer Al's crop but don't like the effect of a train going past at the top of the image so have deleted it from Al's crop.
    So here's another one !!!

Hi Micahel - I like the original - know it goes against the rules - but feels good to me :)

What a setting, light and the dark sand...

My crop eliminates the patch of water on the right...
Also I try to proportion the crop the same way as the birds
proportions are...to follow bird's posture. I break the 3rds rule
a bit, but I like it that way. I agree with Alfred this image
can be allowed to break the rules. It is very dramatic.
All of above crops are in fact excellent!

The crops are all nice but I too like the original.

    Hi Michael,
After looking at all of the crop examples, It just dawned on me...try doing a pano crop on the original post, and see how that looks to you...
