While going after buntings at a feeder got lots of squirrel activit, fun watching them chaising each other around. This one came close, at times I could not focus.

This looks like the squirrel was really close to you. I like the pose and the composition of the photo. I also wonder if more DOF would be better so that the rest of the squirrel is not out of focus by so much. I'm guessing you had to move back to get that result though.

Desmond at the minimum focusing distance the dof is practically zero even when stopping down with the 600 About all you can do is place the focus point on the eye and go for it !!! Can make some interesting images !!!

This is very nice Mr. Forns...I like the close up pose...with the slight turn...the details and eye is razor sharp...the depth of field is normal within range...good show...

Hi Al - another nice one - love the DOF, great eye - reckon I can just about see your reflection in there. Personal taste - I find the brighter OOF sections on the RHS a little distracting.

Great pose! That's a keeper. Looks a tad underexposed and on the cool side. My repost also takes Lance's point into account about the bright spot in the background (right).

Very nice and David's repost makes it even better! I like the DOF and how the tail frames the head.
I would run some noise reduction on the BG because I can see some noise in a few places.
