Photographed this guy in a mangrove from the boardwalk at Wakodahatchee. It was just sitting there basking in the sun as it set.

I like the color and light on the body and crest. Would like to see a little more detail on the face (maybe not possible due to the lighter scales and bright light?). The OOF leaf in front of the body draws my eye a bit due to being surrounded by the detailed patterns visible in the rest of the body.

The obvious thing to say is where is the tail but as these are normally very long I am not surpried you do not have it. I would think that a lot closer crop removing the area to the left of the rear leg and most of the bottom would add impact, and perhaps applying a little blur to the background.

    Hi Marina.

Great light and I like the diagonal of the body. Agree, closer may have been the way to go to eliminate the FG OOF leaves and accentuate the face but as presented, you created and attractive image.

I would recommend a reverse s-curve to reduce contrast (http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20434).

Very nice Marina, it works as is. I would love to have seen a head/shoulders type capture! :)
