    Found a pair of burrowing owls last winter on a trip to my mother in laws in Yuma AZ. They had a burrow along an irrigation canal. This is the male..

    Canon 5D, EF600mmF4IS, window mount, ISO 100, 1/1000 @ F6.3, fill flash.

    I like the alert pose and complementing BG. Was it windy when you photographed the owl?

    No the FG is just the bank of the canal...

    Absolutely stunning. I would have liked to have the feet captured as well but the low vantage point has it's merits.
    I have to admit, little owls and burrowing owls have captured my heart with their mesmerizing stare!

    Excellent low angle. I would add a little more shapening.
