It was a good, clear day. I took lots of pictures today but thought the one of this pair to be my best effort. The Northern Pintails always look elegant. I've made minor adjustments in Lightroom -- crop, clarity, saturation, NR, sharpening. I wonder if I should take more off the top, put them tighter in the frame, etc. C&C, please.

    Hi Wendell,
I like the composition, image and capture...This is a very nice pair indeed...a few points to consider...You need to tone down the hot white band on the duck in the background. would crop about 1/4 more from the top of the frame to make this into a pano; thus putting more focus on the pair. I like the head angles and eye contacts...the color rendition is good...would also do another light pass of noise reduction in the background...I would have liked to have seen a much lower capture angle; if possible...looking forward to your next capture...good show...

Nice capture, beautiful composition and clarity. My only suggestion would be to reduce the green/cyan levels in the water. Also ran NR on this repost.

Gus and David, points taken . . . and thanks. Yep, I guess it needed more NR, and I do like the shade of the water much better, David. I thought a pano would be better, but I seldom get away from a 2X3 ratio -- I know I should.

Great comments and fine re post David !!!

Can only add I think the male could have a better head angle? Those couple of degrees seems to make a difference. .... btw good exposure, those whites are easy to blow while obtaining shadow detail !!!

David (if you're still there), would you please tell me exactly what you did (did you select the water, etc.) with green/cyan levels to make the water so beautiful -- I've tried, but failed. I use mostly Lightroom and Elements, though I do have Photoshop CS3.
