Really beautiful. The eye reflection is wonderful . To critisize something, I think I would like more room to the left and the bottom, though not really sure. Congrats

    Lady Denise,
I like the composition as presented...Its well composed and executed. The details are sharp and the color rendition is very good. The eye contact is dead on...I can see you...:DThe background compliments this little guy...good show...looking forward to your next one...

Nice Denise! Tack sharp, nicely muted backround. To my eye it's nicely cropped. A tiny nit would be to clone out the small white area behind the squirrel's back. Good job!

Denise - I am sure that Nonda will give us the straight goods; I think your squirrel is a Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel that has lovely bits of red. It is a lovely image. I find these guys very wary, so good on you for getting the image. The tight crop is super.

Really very, very nice image of a ground squirrel! Really well done Denise, they aren't easy. I think it is a Golden-mantled GS (winter coat) AKA 'Copperhead' quite the cool little guy.

    Our posts crossed Gail:)

Thanks for the correct ID. I just went by my guide book-I have another one I'll post that will probably be the wrong ID also!

As good as it is D, I probably would have gone even tighter on the crop. Great eye contact and sharp as a tack. Congrats

Denise, nice image! Very pleasing colors, nice details and just too cute (sorry, that's not technical...). Interesting that you got one suggestion to crop tighter and one to open it up. It feels right to me as presented.

    Denise,

Very nice image. I like the eye-level feel of it all. Looks like you could be looking from another squirrel's perspective.

Denise, these little guys can be really tough to ID! Side stripes (two or more) are either a chip or GS and it gets rough from there..Tons of them.

Douglas and Reds have a single dark line separating top fur from tummy fur, not always real prominent.
Have seen a field guide here and there as well as websites that have wrong ID's;)
