Shot this brown fish owl on a termite mound on a very cloudy, overcast day under the Canopy. Removed some branches using healing and cloning tools (just learning to use them). Reduced noise. Would love to hear on how to improve the image. Corbett NP, N.India. Data

Cool setting and good pose. I might raise the color temperature a few degrees, sharpen the bird more and run noise reduction on the BG. I might clone out the trunk on the right. Keep them coming!

Nice bird. Didn't know they ate termites. Image is a little flat: An adjustment layer using curves would help in bringing in a bit more contrast and dynami. If you know how to use masks, you could create a mask of the BG and then select "inverse" in the menue. Select gausian blur and zoom in to 200% and then, using the slider, adjust blure until over-all sense of "pixels" is smoothe out. I find it works well in these situations.
    Good shooting to you. ;-)

I guess the right image should be somewhere in between :) I mean a bit less saturation and contrast. The bird is almost touching the edge of the frame. Would include some part of the tree.
I know however how hard to make a lovely image of this difficult species. Nevertheless you managed it well.
