The image was created in the Upper Masi Mara, Kenya. This intense stance followed the devouring of a small frog. Grey overcast day. late afternoon. Quite a sight through the viewfinder. Critique and comments eagerly sought, I'm here to learn. Thanks, John

John I think it's a beautiful capture and I love the head on view. My only suggestion would be to give it a bit more canvas to the left.right and top. It is a bit tight in the frame...other than that ...well done!

John, this is a very nice--and unusual image. Excellent angle and good job exposing the whites. I would like to see a bit more room around this bird on all sides except the bottom--giving more to the right.
    Very nice--thanks for sharing.

Welcome to BPN, John! Great first post. I like the exposure control, details and stare and agree regarding more space top and left. Keep them coming!

Great sighting and capture, and a very beautiful bird. I agree that a little more room would help. You were very lucky to have so few twigs!

Thanks Bonnie and all for the comments. I checked the Raw File and this is pretty much the full frame. I can clone some sky top and right, however the twigs are a problem. I was lucky to have a somewhat open view. Thanks again. Regards. John

I agree with all the comments about the room needed, but excepto for that, I have loved this one right away! Great light, pose, detail, exposure and colors! Congratulations!

It's a magnificnet bird; one I've not seen before. To add canvas at the top, or sides, would be easy since the sky is of an even and uniform tone and value. Well done, esp., with 2x converter. ;-)

Very tight in the frame but I love the eye contact and the bird pose :-)
