Took this photo of a bald eagle a couple of days ago. I like the wing position, and the pristine white plumage. So often the white feathers are off color. I've been struggling with the fact that the head looks a little overexposed, but the histogram tells me its not.
In any case, this was shot with my Canon 30D, 100-400 lens at 400mm, ISO 400, 1/1250 sec at F6.3, +1/3 EV.
The whites look okay on my monitor. The wing positon is great, the bird is well lit and he has a good head angle. I wish you could have had him either completely against the mountain or the sky. This would eliminate the line in the BG. Changing your shooting height could have accomplished this.
I like the details, soft light, wing position, BG and exposure control. The whites look fine and I might sharpen the bird a bit more. Keep them coming!
