Female, though I could be wrong. These are difficult for me to ID; esp. juvinile and female of the species.
Self cirtique: The blended colours of the BG are nice, most of the colours are compimentary to those of the bird. Opted for the virtical (portrait) framing as detail of bird is the focal point. Perhaps just a bit more room to the right.

Hi Mark, I am not too good at ageing and sexing hummers either. Sharp and a good EXP. If you had moved right a bit that would have yielded a consistent light toned BKGR and perhaps a more interesting perspective. I like the detail on the throat.
