Default Full frame Female Belted Kingfisher

Hi all. I was out at Merritt Island this am and had the pleasure of this beauty to capture. This is the second time I have had the pleasure at the same place, so she must hang out there. But, this time she perched on the closest green to the road:D:D. So with the D300, Nikon 500 f4 and 1.4 TC FF. The link under the image is my Smugmug link that gives the google map where you can see where I am talking again. Other particulars are iso 640, f8, 1/2000. As always all C&C welcomed.

Very nice lighting; good resolution. Might want to clone out the far right twig that extents out of the frame. I'd be tempted to tease a little more contrast out of the bird and saturate the colour (bird only). Little noise in BG? That said, it is a good image and worth keeping. Congrats. Hope she gives you more opportunites. ;-)

Hi Nancy, I saw this bird a million times on a crummy perch. It is not full frame (thank goodness) but I like it a lot, esp. the sharpness and the pretty nice perch. Good head angle too. I would go a bit darker with the middle-tones as Mark noted.

Agree with the above comments, great BG, light, detail and colors, nice comp, and pose.
I wonder why you used such high ISO... you could've gone with lower ISO as the bird seemed to be preety still.
    Congratualitons!

I like the details, head angle and BG. It could go a bit darker and I might remove the second catchlight. Lowering the ISO would have been an option.
