I really didn't think I was going to get much of a chance for shots this morning as it was pretty foggy
but once it lifted I was able to snap a few off on this Male Bufflehead Duck although I wish the near wing was just a
bit higher I was happy to the fact that I was able to catch the iridescence in the head and nice eye contact.

Hi James what a shot WOW
I like the pose of the bird and that you have the sun in your back it makes it look really good.
Wish i had a shot like this.

Very cool light, details, pose, exposure control and iridescence. As you mentioned, if the near wing were higher up it would be as good as it gets. Is the gray BG due to fog?

Thanks Axel! Yes the background is water with the fog casting the grey color on it....:)

Lovely detail in the head and good capture. Agree on the wing issue, but still a keeper :)

Killer shot! Nice job on the exposure; I love the beads of water on it's belly and the iridescence looks great

Great detail and pose. Wing position could be better, but this is still a great image.

I am with Fabs here, the wing issure is a minor detail among such quality, great light, exposure, pose, detail colors and BG. Congratulations!

Yes sir, this is a knockout! The Buffie really stands out nicely against that BG.

A definite keeper James! These guys are tough to expose properly and to catch in flight. You've done both! Near wing position could be better but it's still a fine shot.

    Hey James,
Not only do I like the iridescence of the head but the real nice detail in the feet. Definitely a keeper.

I agree about the right wing man it really doesn´t matter because this image is sooo good. The light couldn´t be better and the extended pink feet are fantastic. superb iridescences and Bg. One more image to be proud of Jim
