I don't know what is going on with the transfer of my files to the site but the blues are quite different on my monitor and then they completely change when I upload them to here.

Thet are converted to srgb and everything else is as I always have done before

Here is a redo with almost completley desat blues

    John...

If you're "saving dor web" in CS3, make sure that the "ICC"profile box is checked off just below the JPEG / Maximum (or whatever file size you choose) box.

I was having the same issue recently as sonehow, mine became unchecked.

No I am not saving for the web I convert and then post the file from my comp

Convert to Srgb and the colors on my comp are completly different than here

Recalibrated monitor and prints are fine

I think I'd like this more presented as a vertical and eliminating the lower branch would make this a stronger image. Nice Shot!

Great find, I still have to see this species. I agree regarding removing the lower branch, would try to get more details in the shadows and sharpen the face more. The sky in the repost looks better, I might desaturate the blues a bit more.

ok I think I have found a glitch in Vista when I updated the latest 64 bit recommended service upgrade it changed some of my preferences in the comp
hope this works on the colors

Yes, the blues look better now, both in color-managed Safari and non-color-managed Firefox.

I like the ee contact and the fluffy look here. On the negatice side you have the intense surreal blue of the sky, and negative space place behind the bird versus in front of him. Two thirds of the image, to the right, have nothing to offer.

Even in 2nd repost, the blues are insanely saturated. Not sure why the problem. You might try totally de-SATing the blues and the CYANs. Wonderful bird and sharp. In addition to the problems mentioned above, the light is from the right leaving the right side of the bird in shadow.

I am going to try and revert my computer to an earlier date as the only thing I can find that is different is the fact that I have installed service pack 1 for Vista 64

Much better but the sky is still a bit unrealistic/electric. I like how you have opened up the shadow detail.

Let me know if you agree that the repost here shows the sky as a much more natural blue.
