    Default Morning Colors....

Went out with my old friend (100-400) on my new rig (1dmkiin) and 1.4xtc (which now has autofocus on the 1 series body as opposed to my 10D). This image was made in the early morning at Green Cay. Handheld. While background is busy, I like the bird in environment aspect of this one. 1dmkiin 100-400 1.4xtc ISO 800 F11@1/512

This looks like typical gallinule habitat to me, so this certainly shows the environment, even with the busy background. It's a great pose, with those prominent feet, front and center. The white spot on the lower right is a little distracting. Beautiful colors in the morning sun!

Great colors and pose. It is a bit tight in the frame and as you mentioned, the BG is quite busy, which is not too bad. I only find the white spot and the stem crossing the neck a bit distracting.

Wonderfully natural looking pose, you really nailed it. The surroundings are great, love the colors of course.

Beautiful bird, nice pose. WHen I was at GC late December, I learned to like these bgs. The one thing that to my eye is bothersome here is the branch intersecting the back of his neck and bill. Tough to avoid, tho.

Just a perfect pose, Dave, from head to toes.

There's purple, there's georgous purple, and then there are Purple Gallinules.
