Here's one with plenty to nitpick.....but I just like it for some reason. I guess it's just one of those technically imperfect images that you either love or hate. It was captured on a lousy morning at Ding Darling when nothing was happening. About the time the light got bad, and all the other photographers packed it in for the day, two Spoonbills landed in the water and started wading around. I figured I might as well at least capture a few images, and this was one of them.

Canon 1DsMII, EF 600mm f/4L with 2x Extender, f/8, ISO 400, 1/320, Drop in gel Circular Polarizer. Laying prone in the mud with the Gitzo 5540 tripod legs out at ground level and Wimberley II head.

Great angle and eye contact. You mentioned the harsh light. I would crop the dark band at the top. Here is an alternative crop and some S/H applied.

    Hey Bob,

Like the low angle. I still like the original post, it gives a better feeling to the image. Axel's post is great but looks too washed out for me.

I like this Bob. I would crop from the top too but not quite as much as Axel as I like the graduated effect. S/H is very helpful to liven up the image. That eye is great and the colours work beautifully.

Really nice one, I like the low angle and the bands of light and color going up through this one. Just the right amount of exposure without cooking the whites.
