    Default My First Junco

    common, but a first for me.....400mm w/1.4X and 25mm tube, ISO 400, 1/200, f/11, +.67EV, about 75% 0f frame
As always, much appreciate the c/c

Common or not, great angle, BG and head angle. I might sharpen the bird a bit more and increase saturation a few points.

Lovely pose and complimentary colours on the bird, perch and BG. A wider aperture may have given all the DOF you needed and rendered the BG smoother.

thanks much Axel....I'm laughing a bit as I reduced sharpening and sat a bit as it looked more natural.

Some good thoughts Tony, but the lens is an f/5.6 +1.4x = f/8 and then there was the 25 mm tube, so I am
nearly wide open at almost f/11

Fantastic pose and eye contact. Another vote for more sharpening to the bird. Very cool species BTW

I think everything worked nicely on this shot, bird, BG and the rock. That is a rock, right? Nice work Dave!

I thought it was a tree stump, agree with the sharpening, was this a 1 series body (assuming it is).
