I like the wing position and BG and wish for a lower angle and more head turn towards you. Did you dial in positive EC?

Hi Stuart, the clouds sure do add a nice backdrop for the heron. The exposure looks pretty good, but I think you could draw out a little bit more under-wing detail with a Shadows adjustment during RAW conversion. Like Axel, I would have preferred a bit more of a head-turn toward you...that visual contact gives so much to a photograph!
