I like the sharpness and the soft light but the composition is a bit tight for my taste. Anyhow, the bird is placed in the right place because she is lookking to the bottom of the frame. The Bg is busy but I do not mind because adds a lot of information about the habitat of the bird.

In the US we call this a Least Bittern. I agree with the other comments. To make it perfect, however, I would make an attempt to clone out the dead brown leaf that pulls my eye away from the subject. I'd prefer an all-green BG. I like that the entire subject is in focus. Your use of a smaller f-stop paid off.
I like the pose and the position of the feet adds interest. Light and details look good, too. I only find the dry leaf at the top a bit distracting.
Love the pose and the head position but the crud on the lower bases of the reeds is quite distracting. You dog is in pet heaven with my Sugar (aka the white ***** cat that was the living link to my late wife now gone 14+ years).
