    Red-necked Grebe swimming in the reflection of a Canadian Coastguard Cutter Sambro, Nova Scotia.

    D300, Nikon 80-400, ISO720, 1/2000. f5.6, EV+2/3.

    Cropped and sharpened only - otherwise just "out of the camera" (after Raw conversion to jpeg). No color corrections.

    No color corrections? I'm amazed...I thought I had seen it all in water images but I've never seen it this red.

    I have to say that for me, personally, I can't get into the red water - looks too much like its swimming in blood. I also don't like the brown against the red. It's just a personal thing but the red really bothers me here.

    Hi Richard Cool use of reflections I go for all of them and like them a lot but its not to everyones taste !!! As presented would place the duck closer to the UR hand corner !!!

    I really like the jewel quality of the water and the colors of it. Having a bird on it is a bonus :)
