This is the bird that I wanted to photograph for a "photo lifer"while in Florida. Little did I know that I would be "mobbed". I arrived at the Cruikshank refuge and walked about 1/2 mile looking for the birds that I was assured were there when suddenly the birds called to my right and simultaneously this guy landed on my head! I whipped out my little point and shoot Olympus camera and held it out and took the shot. I proceeded to photograph this group of jays numbering about 10, all the while trying to keep them from landing on my head and pecking me (they pecked lightly thank goodness!!).

    Dan,

It's great that you had the insight to whip out your P&S and get a shot of yourself! Truly an amazing photograph.

    God bless,

You did very well with DOF and exposure all things considered. Great shot Dan!

That's hilarious! Aren't they the most friendly and adorable birds! Glad you were able to think quickly and get a photo in the midst of being mobbed. ;)
