These two were dancing away last Saturday at Anhinga Trail. Don't know if this is a courtship dance?

It is a courtship and they can put on a show !!!! The light was not kind to you here but you captured the moment !!!

btw they should be displaying for a couple of weeks so its worth going back there and checking them out. For some reason its usually in that same area !!!

I think it would be better without that big white empty sky at the top. Given that the head of the nearest heron is so close to the white/bright empty space up there, it is competing for the viewer's attention with the sky. The nearby white area could also make the head looks darker than it is. Good pose and good moment though.

Nice capture Oscar. BG could have been better, but you captured the moment for sure. I'll probably see you at Flamingo on Saturday morning.

I love the action, great capture, lots of energy. I hope you'll get some more. If it were me, I try for cleaner bg and getting both birds in focus.

Hi Oz - darn harsh light - don't you hate it and doesn't it seem to be the way thats when all the action happens :(
Agree with the whte sky being a distraction.

i like the poses! did you have the beamer on at the time? i see you were at 200mm and at that focal length it is not needed. i was thinking you did because i could see how flash hit the body of the bird but not neck and face. at 200mm the beamer will concentrate the flash to a smaller area.

the sky looks fine to me.

Very Nice capture, Oscar. I like the behavior poses and it looks like a watercolor painting to me---and I like watercolors.
