Default Ruddy Turnstone - last light

I photographed this Ruddy Turnstone recently on Sanibel Island shortly before the sun hit the horizon. I left most of the shells in the photo as that is the habitat one finds on Sanibel. 40D, 500 f/4, 1/1000, f/6.3, ISO 320. Comments are welcome.

I like this image and particularly the fact you left the habitat as it was/is and didn't make it into a chocolate box type image that is too clean and clinical by cloning out the shells. (in my humble opinion that is). :)

    The light is indeed wonderful!

    Hey Steve,
Sweet light! I'd leave most of the shells......but would get rid of the ones along the edge of frame. Definitely says Sanibel and the leg raised is a plus. Nicely done!

PS Since I am in extra room mode today.....won't say crop:D!

Great light, details, angle and the raised foot adds to it. I like the shells since they give the image depth.

I like the shells, but I would clean them up at the bottom of the frame; it'd be nice to have just sand at the very bottom. Love the low angle and sweet light!

Very nice, Steve! I agree with what Doug said exactly. You need to get home and start working on some Minnesota birds now. :) maybe make a run to the bog for the NHO or GGO??

Just about perfect, Steve.....love the raised foot, the glorious light, and your inclusion of his habitat. Very pleasing to view.
