    Nikon D300, 500 AFSVR, ISO 400, F 6.3, 1/2000, Nearuniwb Preset, CW metering, +.3 EV compensation applied.

    Oh my, that white plumage just glows doesn't it? I like the wing position and also the way you placed the background. :)

    They just keep getting better Jim! Great wing position and eye contact. With whites like that against the blue of the ocean, why +1/3?

    Cool pose, eye contact and I like that there are more details in the whites than in the previous one.

    Default Regarding the EV Compensation Question

    When utilizing the NearUniWB preset, it balances the color channels, thereby giving you a truer histogram readout and allowing a more proper exposure...and in doing so, allows you to push the exposure latitude further to the right without blowing channels. It actually gives you about 2/3 of a stop more over what the typical im camera uncorrected histogram allows you.

    In doing so, you have to add additional compensation over what you'd typically do.

    In addition, keep in mind that I'm not shooting matrix and that changes things as well.
