Nice pose and contrast between the white gull and blue sky, John. I like the eye and highlight. There are no blown whites but this looks like an ideal image to use linear burn ( http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=18298 ) to bring up more detail in the whites under the near wing. I have done a quick and rough job masking the effect to the near wing and body but a better result would be had using a low opacity brush on the layer mask to give more effect on the wing and less on the body. Have also darkened the sky a little to accentuate the bird

Nice work on the repost Tony. Very lovely flight pose and I agree with Tony's comments on the eye. The dark sky helps to show off the your subject better. Many thanks for sharing John.

The blues look better on my monitor compared with the last one. The light looks a bit harsh. I would tone down the highlights a bit and lighten the shadows.

Tough light to photograph such a white bird. I like the way the sky shows through the darker wing. I prefer Tony's repost but I would leave the head unchanged.

Agree with Doug about the head.

    Lovely white bird. So immaculate!
