    Default More room

This is for all of you who usually want more space in my images:D...as you all know by now....I generally crop /compose tight.....so this may be room overload for me but I liked the water so much in this one.......I couldn't get rid of it. Yes I know the duck is centered........but I feel the water has enough interest to hold it's own.
This was taken in Flamingo Gardens......man made pond......."wild duck"......I don't know what kind of duck it is (sorry)......but they get fed so I guess they just hang around for the freebies. There is no fence or net ito keep them in and many of the birds do fly off in the eveniing.....but a free lunch seems to keep these guys right there.

Taken with the Canon Mark3 with the 100-400mmm lens and 1.4 tele handheld at 560mm for 1/1000 sec. at f8 and ISO 800. I'm 99% sure that if I had used the Pigmonster......I would have gone tighter...but comments welcomed and appreciated.

Looks like a White-faced Duck from Africa, Roman. I like the water but would crop tighter ( I am a close crop fan too, so take this with a pinch of salt :D).

Hey Roman I must say it was a surprise to see this kind of crop from you !!! I agree the water is beautiful and rich and I love the pose and reflection you captured in this image. Really do agree on a little tighter crop though :D:D

Hey, Roman. It was nice meeting you at Wako. Was this Flamingo Gardens in Fort Lauderdale?
I like the water, but agree with a slightly tighter crop.

    Hey Susan,
Yes this is the place....but it is in Davie actually. I like the afternoons there. Usually I do Butterfly world in the morning.....or Wako......then Flamingo Gardens in the afternoon. The keepers feed the gators around 2pm......so night herons and others abound on the old oak by the otters. The pond is just around the corner form the otters.

BTW.....I purposefully posted one with a lot of room.....so I didn't have to hear too tight today! Needed a day off :D!

I love the water Roman! But I would crop a little tighter too. I would also sharpen the bird a little more. Perhaps a touch of CCW rotation.

That's a fine shot. I sorta like the wide crop. Those reflections are interesting in themselves, not just background for Floating Beauty there.

I lived in Ft. Lauderdale years ago. This shot -- plus the snow and ice currently covering DC -- make me want to return there.
