Black capped chickadee at -24F. I like the fluffed look on this little one-conserving heat on a bitter cold day. The BG is actually an OOF old log building that renders a lovely mid day color this time of year.

It's quite obvious how cold it was, that's about as fluffed up as it gets. :) I like the head angle and vivid BG and also wish there were more tail to see and might remove the bright spot on the beak.
BKGR, light, fluffiness, and image to die for. Nice perch but could be a bit thinner for a chickadee. Way to go. Let's see some more species with the same BKGR.

John the BG is could not be more sweet. I love it. Great sharpness, pose and light. I think that this image could work also in landscape format with room enough at the right but I like in the way you posted. Good job!
You're a brave man taking the camera gear and yourself outside at -24 degrees! But it looks like your dedication paid off with a very nice photo. I love the fluffed-up feathers. A smaller perch would help, and I cast another vote for removing the white spot on the beak.
Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions! Axel and Doug, I missed the obvious easy fix spot on the beak that you both noticed. Spot removed! Thanks.
