I created this image in the summer of '07 near Sheepeater Cliffs in Yellowstone National Park. I rarely photograph these birds, but seeing a nice uniform background behind this one as it hopped up on a near by fence post gave me the opportunity to make this capture.

Great portrait, I like the composition, exposure control, BG and details. I might have gone to ISO 200 and stop down a bit more.

As above. In addition, I love that the front of the face, the eye, and the bill are razor sharp while the feathers on the back of the head are so soft and fluffy. Great BKGR. My standard ISO with my Canon EOS-1D MIII is 400.

Excellent portrait, John. BG, detail, and love your exposure/processing on the blacks. Well done!
