Went back to Merritt Island this evening in search of a Reddish Egret who is my nemesis. Couldn't find him so instead of coming home empty handed I grabbed this Pintail. I sort of liked the hunkered down look and stare.

I like the angle, water colors and look-back pose and would tone down the highlights. Good luck finding a reddish egret.

The water color is great, nice HA and pose.

The head turn make this one work for me, the light and water are exquisit, in my pc some whites seem a bit hot. Congratulaitons!

The light is good and the highlights being a bit hot have been mentioned.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hope I correctly corrected the highlights in the repost or did I overdo it ?

The process you would use would be of use if you have the time to share.

    Thanks.

Too bad that you didn´t find that red egret. Fortunately you returned home with a nice image of one of my favourite ducks species ;-)
The angle is very good and I like the warm quality of the light. I would prefer the bird more paralel to the focal plane but you did it well waiting for a good head turn and that saves the image IMO.
    I agree about the whites
