    Default Mad as heck

Well not really, it was just a yawn. Light wasn't the best, cloudy and late afternoon. I was too close to change lenses and didn't have my macro lens with me in any event.

Cropped just a bit off the left side, none of the top, bottom or right. No bait being used, this female is very tame.

Tame as it is, I'm pretty sure this bird is going to become a pet of yours. :) I like the open mouth and composition. The yellows look a bit undersaturated on my monitor. There are a few jpg artifacts in the BG.

Art, You really were close! She's a beauty. I like her yawning, and think you framed it well.

Wow Art. That is really good. I like the action! I know it is probably a big ask, but I would love to have seen both eyes clearly. Still, my hat off to ya! :)

I really like the open beak! I'm with Ramon; I'd love to be able to photograph these birds someday. In this image I just wish we had a better look at the bird's right eye.

Thanks Doug, when she opens the beak like that, the eyes really squint, almost closed, this is actually one of better shots with the eyes open while the beak is open. Not only is it fun to photograph them, but it is a real rush to see them fly by and hear their wings flapping the air around. It is really something too, to be able to crawl up real close to some of them.
